Rick grew up in the San Diego area, graduated from Kearny High School and San Diego State University and ultimately obtained his law degree from University of San Diego School of Law in 1976. He was admitted to the California State Bar later that year.
His experience includes 12 years as general counsel to North Island Credit Union where he was responsible for a broad range of legal and executive duties. Prior to joining the North Island management team he was in private practice for twenty years. Rick is also a real estate broker which enables him to handle the purchase and sale of real estate for his clients and others. Early in his career he served as principal assistant to San Diego City Councilman Tom Gade, fueling his interest in politics and he remains politically active today. He has served as a member of the California Governmental Affairs Committee for the California Credit Union League and is active in civic affairs, serving as a volunteer at the San Diego Airport USO assisting our servicemen and women. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, Rick was honorably discharged in 1969. As an avid baseball fan, he is active in the San Diego Adult Baseball League. Rick is the father of three children and five grandchildren and resides in the Mission Valley area with his wife.
